Peter Wharton is the Principal Consultant at PKJ Wharton Arboricultural Consultancy. He has experience in practical arboriculture, working as a local authority tree officer for Birmingham City Council and Oxfordshire County Council, and for a number of private consultants.

Peter has gained a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Arboriculture from Myerscough College, University of Central Lancashire. The degree course included a year's placement in Australia for which he gained a distinction. He was also awarded the OCA First Prize for Best Student.

Since the completion of his degree Peter has continued his professional development by undertaking the International Society of Arboriculture's Trees and Mortgage/Insurance Reporting Course. Peter is also a licensed user of Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA).

Peter is a professional member of both the Arboricultural Association (AA) and International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). He is also a member of the Consulting Arborist Society (CAS) and Arboricultural Mortgage and Insurance Users Group (AMIUG).
